We just want to dance in pink

wearing: Italian pink vintage top, Mbym leggings, H&M cropped jacket, scarf (thanks Klara honey!) and necklace, Pieces vest, Samer bracelet

Hi beauties!

Sorry for me not posting regularly at the moment. I've been under the weather lately. For the past three days I've had a feeling of constant nausea. I don't really know whats happening. Anyway! I've got past some homework and I had a minute for a shoot! I desperately love pink and used correctly it can be great :) I really hope you're happy and well! I'm really looking forward to the upcoming fashion week here in Cph - can't wait to post about all the lovely clothes.

MIRRORED

A photo from earlier this week. It wasn't planned, but a streak of sunlight mirrored back at me from my terribly warped mirror (note the funny shape of my window). Awkwardly I must admit, that my terribly warped mirror was rather dusty. However, it turned out to make a surprisingly beautiful bokeh detail, that doesn't reveal the fact, that it hasn't been polished for weeks. I reckon, I ruined my little secret there!

Healing is going just well. My swellings are still quite visible, and it will take a bit more time to get the last bit away. A heartfelt thank you once again, for all of your supportive comments. I'm looking so much forward to getting over all of this.

ON TOWER BRIDGE

MAX&CO - Coat / PRIMARK - Top / ASOS - Pants / ASOS - Shoes / NOVA - Bag

A little bit more than a week ago, I was jumping around the beach in Australia in my bikini and now I'm sleeping in sweatshirts and socks. Getting used to the temperatures again (and the lack of kangaroos, cockatoos and gum trees), but as much as I miss Aus it's also good being back. I just reunited with my amazing boyfriend who came for the weekend, and we had the most wonderful time here in London, eating till we dropped, laughing over silly stuff and just jumping around enjoying ourselves and each other.
The fact that I'm flying to Copenhagen in a week for Fashion Week is so exciting. I have a whole list of things I want to stock up on while I'm in Denmark (Danish chocolate bars, scones (!!) and other eatable goodies).

HAVE AN AWESOME DAY

NEW IN:

I have always had an almost childish attraction to green foil. I mean, who doesn't like a material that has an ability to change colour from deep green to burnt orange? During my lunch break a couple of days ago, I stumbled upon this green foil purse by Monki, and of course it had to come home. Honestly, I'm not going to be using it as a purse, as I don't like the way it's been finished on the inside, but I'll have one more shiny thing to look at and accessorize with. :)
I'm thinking it will shine up an outfit in one either blue, green, yellow or orange for a good match.

Candyflossed hair

Yes! I did what I've been long wanting to do - I tip dyed my hair pink. It's so much fun and I still can't quite get used to it - however, when I finally get use to it, it might be out as it's just a temporary thing. Actually, I'm sort of flirting with the idea of dying all my hair pastel pink. However, this would probably mean that I'd have to bleach all my hair, which is not an option at the moment. I heard that lots of you are going to do (or have done) the same project - I'd love to see it, so do throw a link with your look in the comment field! :)

This photo is from yesterday, when I just got it dyed with the help of Stine and Oliver (it was hilarious!). They wouldn't let me do anything, so they're the ones to thank for this ;)
Today is the 2nd day, and the colour has already disappeared a lot! It's not as crazy as the above photo.

After my hair got caught in the candyfloss machine yesterday, I went to a Toni&Guy event together with beautiful Anne-Sofie, where we were introduced to their new product range. We got a lot of great tips from the experts themselves - more to come soon - promise! :)

New hat + lipstick

Wearing: Monki hat, Lace top made by my mother, Hunkemüller underdress

I've come home from a long and wonderful winter holiday which hasn't been completely without spendings ;). Amongst my lovely buys was this hat from monki; I've wanted one of these for ages! The lipstick is Ruby Woo from MAC and we have already started to enjoy each others company to the fullest.

Hope you've had an amazing week.

Purple on the lips and in the mind

wearing dress by Asos

This is the dress I got from Asos before christmas! It looks so crumpled on these photos, but it's really lovely actually! Hope you like it :) Thought the purple on the lips was fun - definitely something I'll do for the upcoming fashion week!

Seaside Edge

Jacket: Vintage
Leather skirt: Flying A
Shoes: Deena & Ozzy

There is nothing better than going in to a vintage store and coming out with gold. The feeling, that you just got something for a fraction of what it is worth. Some of my favorite pieces are vintage and I just discovered that almost half of my wardrobe is vintage. Oh well, I for sure am a fan. Btw. I wouldn't recommend jumping around in high heels....

I hope you had a lovely day!

I did something

Guess what I did today!

When you laugh

Wearing H&M shirt

I'm totally pooped after fashion week, but hey, that's a part of the fun. You put all your energy into it and afterwards you can sleep. Well, almost. I'm taking the last couple of days in school before the winter holiday - can't wait!

Hope you're happy :)

SUNLIGHT SECRETS

VINTAGE JACKET
MUM KNITTED MY SWEATER
TOPSHOP JEANS
H&M HAT
CATHRINE SAKS NECKLACE
BILLI BI SHOES

And here it goes! My first full faced outfit post on the blog after the jaw surgery 5 weeks ago. As some of you might notice, I'm still a bit swollen in my cheeks and around the jaw, which has been moved forward to fit the upper jaw. I'm still training to get all my mimics, gimmicks and tongue twisters up to full speed again, not to forget my ability to whistle which is currently out of order.

DESIGNING FOR THE PEN

VINTAGE JUMPSUIT / LEE SHIRT

One of the stories my parents will happily tell at a dinner party, if the subject ever lands on how I was as little, is how they would know that if I went quiet, something was up. Often, they would find me "customizing" the walls with permanent markers, ink, paints, anything I could find to peppen up the off-white in any designated corner of the house. There's something so fun about playing with a white canvas, and by having the exciting opportunity of designing a lens-strap for the Olympus PEN, being the UK blogger ambassador, I had no doubt where to start.
Having been to art school, and often using inks for my projects, my table and floor (there's a rug there now..) would often by accident get some splashes of colour on them. As accidental as it was, I quite enjoyed the contrast between the white colour of my desk juxtaposed with the different intensities of the ink, creating this completely random yet beautiful and simple print. I love the look of the PEN and a lens-strap is such a fun way to personalize the look.

The lens-strap will be available as a limited edition online and will be made in white leather. Dates are still to be confirmed, but I hope you enjoyed the little sneak peak and hearing about the design-proces, and of course I'm excited to share the final product with you!

TUCKED IN

UNITED COLOURS OF BENETTON - Turtleneck

Straight hair. Oh how nice it is, but even for us naturally-straight-haired-heads it can be a bit of a struggle to get right. If I leave my hair all straight with no volume at all (which some girls pull off absolutely beautifully!) my heart-shaped head looks giant and it's just not a good look for me. I often create a bit of movement with a hot styler, randomly twisting hair strands throughout my hair. When ghd recently contacted me to try out their V pink Jewel styler, I thought it'd be fun to put it to a test, when I was traveling over the last few weeks to Barcelona with Mango and to Copenhagen for the fashion week and it really didn't let me down!
I really need my sleep (I'm one of those…) so when I wake up 40mins before a show or event, it heats up within seconds and was very simple to use. It's slightly smaller than my usual stylers making it great for travel without compromising the result plus the styler is pink - that's about 1000+ points in my book.

FOR THE LOOK ABOVE I went all-straight but decided to go for a tucked in style with some volume creating some length play. I prepped with TONI&GUY Heat Protection Mist in dry hair and started straightening all of my hair with the ghd Jewel styler and a brush. The brush ensures that you do minimal damage to your hair and makes it look more neat, so don't leave it out for this look.
Next, I add some of TRESemmé's Oil Elixir to get the last bit of frizz. Jump in to a turtleneck, gently pull out hair to create the volume and voilà!

The styler I used is a PR sample, but for every ghd V pink Jewel styler sold£10 goes towards breast cancer charities. The research they do are so important for us girls, so it's so lovely, that ghd over the past 10 years have raised over £ 7 million for this cause through selling pink stylers.

For more inspiration on how to use the hot styler, check out ghd's gorgeous suggestions for party hairstyles here. I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial and review, and have some fun with your hot stylers at home. Remember protection!!!

5 TIPS FOR CAPTIVATING COLOUR PHOTOS

Shooting in colour can be incredibly powerful, and personally nothing can get my heart racing than a well-composed photograph, where the colour just jumps out of the photo. East London being where I lay most of my routes, is going to be my model in showing you some of my tips for getting good colour photographs, and pass on some of the simple rules, I have been taught along the way and live by every day in my work.

CONTRAST
I say this to everyone who ask me: digital cameras love contrast. There's such beauty in a pastel-coloured photograph for sure, but contrast instantly and clearly communicates what we're looking at and makes it easy for the viewer to understand. Without over-doing it, adding contrast will brighten the colours making it feel real and inviting!

PLAY WITH ANGLES
Okay, so I know how tempting it is to just do the straight-on approach, but leaving your comfort zone and trying some different angles, you just might discover some pretty cool results, making you see your motive in a different way and get that million dollar shot! Even with below, where I chose to combine the word scary with two different angles - the first giving us an idea of the size with the woman at the end of it, and standing right in front of the Y for the next shot. I have found, that having a flip out screen can make it a lot easier to play around with this, but otherwise the jump-stretch-squeeze together with some radical yoga-poses is a way to discover some new angles.

LIGHT IS EVERYTHING
Now, I'm sure if you've read a few of the guides out there, you will have heard this one before. But it's only because it is! Perfect lighting will take the mundane to the magnificent, and depending on the result you want, you'll have to run on different sides of the sun. Overcast weather with just a bit of sun peaking through, is often the best for daylight as harsh sunlight erases the details in the lighter colours. You might already have heard of the golden hour, and this is the queen of all light. When the sun has a low angle to where you are, which would be early in the morning and just before the sun sets, the sun creates this golden light. This is the cherry on top, so if you're going for breathtaking, this is when to get your camera out!

EQUIPMENT
Although your eyes is the most important factor for good shots, a good camera and good lenses will elevate the photographs you take. The photos I have taken here are all done with my Olympus PEN EPL-7 shown below, playing around with different lenses. The EPL-7 provides a lot of flexibility with the earlier mentioned flip-out screen (which has resulted in a selfie, or a gazillion on instagram, whoops), the remote shooting and the fact that you have creative freedom in terms of settings and a set of interchangeable lenses to choose from. Most of the photos in this post were taken with the 45mm f1:1.8 lens, which is brilliant for market shots and portraits being able to set the aperture low. Another goodie is the 12mm f1:2.0 wide angle lens which I have already created several outfit posts with (check this one for an example) - fantastic for those in-city shots full of architecture!

COLOUR CODES
If you're showcasing your photographs, the way you put your photographs together can help strengthen the narrative. Now in blogging, this type of editing process is put in to every post and should be done with a sense of care to get the most exciting results. Above, there was a clear link between the two photos, both having green strongly represented and both having the characteristic yellow bricks (oh London, you!).

Last but not least, Olympus did this little video of me, which I found quite cute - running around doing shots with my camera! I hope you found this mini guide useful, photography is all about the fun you have while doing it - experiment, pull faces, read the manual (!) and see what works for you.

New buys

faux fur: h&m - ring: Glitter - top: Monki - necklace: homemade - jeans: Cheap Monday - Bag: Urban Outfitters - belt: my dad's
There hasn't been a lot of look posts from me lately, but that will change! These are some of the great things in my closet right now. The faux fur I've posted earlier, but I just recently bought the top with the writing "AVANT GARDE" from monki. The heart-necklace I've made myself. It's snowing again here in Denmark, and I'm desperately looking for the perfect hand-creme (as you can see on the photo, my hands are crying for moisture!)!
