Anja

Photos by me.

Sorry for not blogging as much as I would like to. I haven't really been able to set up some look of the day myself recently, but did get a shot of my beautiful friend Anja. She has an amazing style and always has a great sense of "what works". Thought she deserved some space on the blog :)

Lots of love,

One Year In London

It's a special day for me today, as one year back I arrived to an apartment in London, a new city in a new country and a new place for me to call home. Now one year later, it's so overwhelming thinking back on the last year, what I've accomplished, how I've changed and the fantastic and challenging things that happened to me. It's amazing how a new culture, shines on you in a different light, and for me it has and continues to show me where I stand and how we are constantly changing as individuals. I am still completely in love with this town, and now having to start a BA in Womenswear at London College of Fashion, just makes it ever so more exciting to think about my years ahead here.

I am sorry for the slightly outdated photo above, but the whole chop-of-my-hair thing was quite a spontaneous move. This is just a week ago from one of my many lovely trips to Brick Lane in the East end of London this time with Isabella, one of the many lovely people that have come in to my life here.

You might have seen on Twitter, that I'll be celebrating my anniversary with London in Copenhagen (not deliberately planned, but quite funny when I discovered the coincidence!).

I HOPE YOU'RE ALL DOING FANTASTIC, I WILL HAVE A NEW POST UP SOON TO MAKE UP FOR THE LITTLE DROUGHT HERE ON THE BLOG.

MARINE GREEN

Now it is no less than tomorrow, that I'll be leaving for London! I've done quite a bit of goodbyes and see-you-laters now, and although I'm excited for a new adventure, it seems so weird, that I'm not bringing my friends and dear ones with me. I had my last day at work yesterday, so now I'm digging in to some serious packing.

Camden Pastels

Annie and I are currently covering every part of London. Today we went to Camden town, and it was super crowded. My head collapsed and instantly craved a Coca Cola. This here was a calmer and more softly coloured part of Camden. Absolutely love it.

More photos to come. Have a lovely Easter Sunday tomorrow!!

NEW HAIR CUT

The talented SACO team offered me a hair-cut recently, and giving their flair and their lovely staff, it was an offer I couldn't refuse. Let me be honest. I am the kind of girl who due to past hair-cut disasters, only enter the doors of a hair-dresser's once a year. For the rest of it, I manage on my own, eagerly trying to convince myself, that no one would be able to tell the difference. Well.. After paying a visit to SACO and letting gorgeous Mette A. cut my hair, I'm starting to realize, that I might not have been correct earlier on. Seeing and feeling the lift and ease from a professional hair-cut, I really cannot compare it to my previous hair cutting projects.

I was in a desperate need of a hair cut, carrying split ends visible miles away (almost..!)
Hair by Mette A. from SACO, Fiolstræde 29, Copenhagen K

I had a well 15cm taken of the length and had some cold stripes weaved into my golden blonde hair. Having it for a couple of days now, I'm really surprised how different it is to style, and so far I'm extremely glad with the lift. Also, now I can actually say entitled that I have healthy hair. Bonus? I think so.

If any of you are tempted to try out the forces behind SACO (it has hereby been recommended), I will have you know, that there is a student discount !

I hope you'll have a fantastic Sunday and a great start on the week

ORGANIZED CHAOS

I'm currently mesmerized with the work of Masoud Yasami. The levels of colours, shape and dimensions, drawing you in to a surrealistic world just has me completely fascinated.

So I titled this post organized chaos, which currently for me is not quite true. It's more my organizing that's chaos. I have so many things to do and reach before moving to London on thursday, that I feel it could all just fall apart within seconds.

I hope you'll have patience with my inconsistency at the moment!

From London with Love

Hi darlings (my new word from London. Everyone is saying darling to us).
London is quite amazing so far. Yesterday was the big shopping day and I must say, that my feet have probably walked enough for my entire stay, but they're not going to get away with it that easy. Today we'll (again) head for the amazing Topshop on Oxford Street plus trying to find a supermarket, so that we can cook something ourselves. Yesterday we didn't eat until very late because all places were fully booked. Oh well, we got food eventually! :)
I thought the "LOOK RIGHT" on the road was a bit funny, as I constantly have to remind myself that in order not to walk out in front of a car. It's a completely new mindset really!

Hope you're happy and well.

THE NEW TRENCH

ZARA TRENCH COAT / CHEAP MONDAY T-SHIRT / ASOS DRESS (used as skirt - similar here) / TOPSHOP JEANS / BIANCO SHOES / REISS BAG / DANIEL WELLINGTON WATCH

London is so fantastic these days, that it's almost impossible not to spend every moment outside. I've had a cold for over a week now, which currently has lead to my voice being muted completely. I can barely even squeak, horrible, I know! Whenever people who walk by interact during photos, I'm usually always quick with a funny response. Today, that was reduced to a muted laugh (mouth wide open - no sound!).

If you've been following on the instagram or twitter (@SrhMikaela), you might have seen that I went for a day out yesterday with Steve Madden together with the amazing girls from The Apartment. It was one of the most fun-filled days in a long time, and I can't wait to show you the outcome!

HAVE AN AWESOME SATURDAY

Get the look:

New sunnies!

Urban Outfitters sunglasses and H&M knit dress.

FINALLY! My time came for a pair of round sunnies. Surfing across the internet I found these lovely sunnies from UO. My happiness was made and I'll now have very starry, happy eyes when facing the sun. Yay! Glamourous boheme at its' best.

Lots of love,
Mikaela

A slight moment of clearance.. with blue eyebrows!

PhotobucketPhotobucket
What do you do when your internet has broken down and you're bored to death? Go take some photos of yourself with bright blue glitter eyebrows! Hello mon cheries! I got home from the sweet island Als, and I had the brightest wishes that my internet was intact when I arrived home again... but no... No internet whatsoever, so now I am writing to you from my boyfriend's place. But now I can post some of my images from this easter.
I did these eyebrows inspired by the beautiful Raez with the blog Cheap Thrills (if you don't know it, go check it out!) and Stine Goya's S/S 10 collection. Thought it was a little bit strange to have on but it sure was fun.
Hope you all had a great Easter!

Mikaela
