Denim

wearing: vintage Levis shorts, Monki top, mother's denim jacket.

The fact that the weather has become so lovely since the first summer day is just amazing and truly thrills me. I've already burnt my legs (remember sunscreen - especially if you're as pale as me). I can't wait to go to Roskilde festival. The list of bands might not be the best but I really can't wait to see Oh Land, Lykke Li, The Tallest Man on Earth etc.! It's going to be amazing.

Lots of love,

Mikaela

And some thoughts

I did it again. Stayed up all night for my project, that has it's final due next week. I'm stressed, tired, but when all of this is over, I'm going to chase some sunshine like a seagull would chase chips.
And when all this is over, and I finally catch up on sleep, I'll have learnt my lesson on prioritising my time. Hopefully.

That said, I'm having an urge to do a video for once. It's completely out of the comfort zone, but is there anything you'd like to hear me blab about?

LOTS OF LOVE

wearing: zara heels, emilio cavallini leggins, Bik Bok shirt, Ray Ban glasses.

Well, well, well, would you look at that! The girl who, as late as yesterday, said that she was taking a short break from look posting turns up with a look today? No, couldn't be...
I know, I know - haha, I'm a contradiction in it self! And extremely moody obviously to post a look in my look "break". Never mind - everything is back to normal and I'm filled up with new energy to take photos for the blog! By the way, speaking of breaks and all, I'm just heading down to Germany for the weekend to visit my grandmother and some other family. Have a lovely weekend everyone!
Just a quick question, is the second photo also grey on your screen?

This look has been posted to lookbook, here's the link to the look.

Lots of love,
Mikaela

TIME FOR THE CHOP

A super rushed post from me today. I'm running errands before I'm traveling tomorrow. Whilst I'm back in Denmark, I think the time is right to get this mane chopped again. How short this time?

HAVE AN AWESOME WEDNESDAY

Saturday

wearing: Topshop dress, Vila Blazer, Marc by Marc Jacobs bracelet.

I'm going out for a café date with two of my former colleagues and now great friends today. We might go past my favorite café, Kaffekunsten. I've discovered that I all of a sudden have a signature pose. It's looking down. I'm not quite sure if I like that!! I take many photos, but somehow I keep choosing the ones where I'm deliberately looking away. Ahem. Status: working on it!!
I've also discovered what my favorite thing about Mac's lipsticks is. It's not the lovely colours, but it's that lovely vanilla scent there is. Gives that perfect summery feeling :-)

Lots of love,

1073 / 139 / 38

sources: fashiongonerogue, the fashion spot, noirfacade, anywho. The lovely girl on the third last photo is from 10th muse.

Nope guys, haven't messed up the date. 1073 is the current number of photo files in my 'fashion' folder on my iMac. Though I haven't had the computer for more than a half year it's filled up quickly, and today it crossed 1000 :) So here you get some of the files from my folder served right here on the blog ;) I have 139 wonderful readers following the blog via Google today, thank you so much! Also to add to this number are the 38 fantastic readers via bloglovin also a great thanks to you! It means so much to me to have support around this blog.
So here's a quick celebrate with some photos before I say nightie and sleep like a bear (I sound like one too when I sleep!)..

Just a quick question to you if you can help me with some advice; how do you get that great messy hair Bambi Northwood has on photo 10 and 11? Hope you're all happy and healthy!

xx,
Mikaela

wearing: Gina Tricot jacket, Samsøe Samsøe t-shirt, vintage pants, friis & co. ballerinas, h&m earrings

Sorry that the posts aren't so frequent; I'm so tired at the moment.. Summer has finally come to Denmark - and I'm tired! Doesn't make any sense, but I seem to sleep the day away.. Also not feeling right on top, so I'm not so happy for taking pictures of myself right now, which means more inspiration photos coming up - Yaaay!

LONDON TIP: STOKE NEWINGTON

It's a poorly kept secret, that I love going to markets. My former tutor Natalie Gibson would often mention how her husband said that she had two ways of walking; one was to the markets and the other one was from the markets. Arriving to England, not being overly used to local markets from before, I was curious about this magnetism she felt, and it didn't take long for me to understand. Whenever the weekend comes around I usually pack it up with plans of going to the markets and I dare say, that it's become one of my favourite things about London.

This Saturday I discovered a new spot in London thanks to my wonderful flatmates. Stoke Newington was the destination, where we went to drop off some stuff to the charity shop, check out vintage furniture and visit the farmer's market. At the farmer's market, I did something I yet hadn't done in London; buy a rye bread. Having grown up in Denmark, this is practically a part of my DNA, and every time I go back it's all I eat. It was silly that I hadn't tried it sooner, but I think I was very worried it would live up to expectations, but to my luck it did!

We went to this incredibly cute vintage and antique shop called Flying Goats which is definitely worth a check out if you are in the area! The owner's were so kind to us and I found these lovely oriental gold earrings. To be worn with a bare face and a simple outfit.
We passed some amazing cafés, but due to my flatmate having to play a gig later in the day (he's the guitarist in Effra), there was no time for coffee. Stoke Newington and I will absolutely see each other again, there is much more to discover and enjoy!

HOPE YOU HAVE A LOVELY DAY
