It's a poorly kept secret, that I love going to markets. My former tutor Natalie Gibson would often mention how her husband said that she had two ways of walking; one was to the markets and the other one was from the markets. Arriving to England, not being overly used to local markets from before, I was curious about this magnetism she felt, and it didn't take long for me to understand. Whenever the weekend comes around I usually pack it up with plans of going to the markets and I dare say, that it's become one of my favourite things about London.
This Saturday I discovered a new spot in London thanks to my wonderful flatmates. Stoke Newington was the destination, where we went to drop off some stuff to the charity shop, check out vintage furniture and visit the farmer's market. At the farmer's market, I did something I yet hadn't done in London; buy a rye bread. Having grown up in Denmark, this is practically a part of my DNA, and every time I go back it's all I eat. It was silly that I hadn't tried it sooner, but I think I was very worried it would live up to expectations, but to my luck it did!
We went to this incredibly cute vintage and antique shop called Flying Goats which is definitely worth a check out if you are in the area! The owner's were so kind to us and I found these lovely oriental gold earrings. To be worn with a bare face and a simple outfit.
We passed some amazing cafés, but due to my flatmate having to play a gig later in the day (he's the guitarist in Effra), there was no time for coffee. Stoke Newington and I will absolutely see each other again, there is much more to discover and enjoy!
HOPE YOU HAVE A LOVELY DAY
