2014 OUTFIT RECAP

This is it!
I can't believe it's the last day of the year already! Is it just me, or are these things speeding up? Regardless, so many amazing, exciting and challenging things have happened this year, and on its last day, I thought I'd do a little recap of some of my outfits! Not all, as there were just a few more than I could fit in to this post (one does need a bit of a nap before tonight), but if you're keen to scroll through the posts, the Look of the Day category is still very much active!

AROUND THE UK
During 2014, I've had a better chance to get to know the UK much better, beyond vibrant London, pinning down places like Cornwall, Manchester, Brighton, Leicester, Whitstable and more. They only leave me with more love for this country, and more curiosity to discover the rest. Here's to more trips in the UK (and beyond) for 2015!

KEEPING IT SIMPLE

Simple somehow always does it, and as much as I'd like there to be print and colour on absolutely everything, there's something so refreshing with keeping to the basics. It makes those small tweaks stand out, such as braces, a waist-tied shirt or a watch on top of the sleeve.

THROUGH THE SHADES

I will forever be awkward when it comes to sunglasses, and although having quite the collection with time, it hasn't seemed to improve my sway for wearing them. Whenever the sun is going at its strongest, by the time I manage to scoop them out from my Mary Poppins-esque bags, I'm walking in the shade and will have no need for them. Wearing them on the tube is out of the question, although it has brought me to many hypothesis as to why. As soon as they make tetris sunnies, last mentioned statement might change.

COLD SHOULDERS
Oh, summer - where the days are warm and the light doesn't leave me till after 6pm. A perfect time to wear my absolute favourite style - anything off the shoulder will do! I somehow never like to admit to having a feminine style, as my biggest style envy will forever be with the man's wardrobe, but wearing an off the shoulder shirt or a dress which accentuates one of the most beautiful traits we girls have, now that can turn me over!

WHITE SNEAKERS
As every year, I have had a hopeless love towards white sneakers. I might be a 90's kid, but  nothing get's my heart beating like this 80's trend, in particular the Nike Air Force 1's have been a regular in my outfits but also the classic (and ohhh so comfy!) Reeboks.

TRANSPARANCY

If you'd told me at this time last year, that I in summer would be going attending London Fashion Week in nothing but a turtleneck and a sea-through dress - don't forget the hot-pants - I would have thought it a complete joke, and probably have said that I would never do something like that. Little did I know, it was only a matter of time before I'd try it off, and 2014 just so happened to be that year!

SIGNATURE BAGS
It will probably not come as a surprise, but I'm a stuffer. I need my whole life and more preferably fitted in a pocket size handbag, please, and for this reason Mary Poppins has always had my envy. This would avert embarrassing situations, such as carrying a full-size sombrero solo in the London Tube.. True story..

THE COATS
Coming more up to date, the coats are what's truly dictating my outfits at the moment, and is definitely a buy to ponder well on before shooting off. Being a romantic, I've been less practical this year and added some light coats to my wardrobe, but also my bargain of a camel coat above and a fitted feisty red coat made the cut (and the budget, woohoo)!

LET THERE BE DENIM
Well, we might as well get it out in the open. I like living my life dangerously - wearing double denim! Yes, yes, yes, I know, but they haven't caught me yet! Justin and Britney, you were just ahead of your time..

STRIPES
Whenever I'm too lazy to decide what to wear, but don't want anyone else to know (cat is out of the bag - out of the bag!) I wear stripes. I know it's not just a Scandinavian thing, but here's a trick if you're traveling there, and you want to fit in. Wear stripes!! In all of my old school pictures, half of the class would be wearing stripes on the picture. No joke.

PRINTED TROUSERS

It's no secret that I'm a pants girl (pants = trousers). I'd choose them over a dress or skirt any day. You avoid doing the Marilyn injustice, and you can bounce around like a pretzel without any accidents. Now if they're printed too - there's your recipe for awesomeness!

ALL WHITE
If it wasn't because I'm a massive spiller (never let me anywhere near ketchup), I reckon I'd be wearing white all the time. Nothing can replace that feeling of walking around like a blank canvas, just ready for the city to paint on you.. I take that back, horrible thought, and honestly not as poetic as that came out. There have been times, where I've made the mistake of wearing white pants and - although the bench looked clean - think again! Nevertheless I tirelessly return to wearing white.

LOOK 1 / LOOK 2 / LOOK 3

TRENCH COATS

Last but not least, an ultimate classic in my wardrobe. Although I mostly like hunting them down vintage, the high-street such as ZARA and ASOS have taken on the mouth-watering oversize trench coats really well too.

THANKS FOR FOLLOWING ALONG THIS YEAR! YOU ARE ALL EXTREMELY AWESOME, AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR ANOTHER YEAR OF LOOKS AND FUN. REMEMBER THAT YOU CAN REVISIT ALL OF MY LOOKS HERE.

BEST OF 2012 - PART II

As promised, here is the second part of the 2012 outfit sum up. I haven't included all of my outfits, just a few here and there. See the first part here :)

(Left photo from here, right from here)
Two of my very favorite outfits this year. These dresses have two things that makes my heart softer than jelly, colours and print. Both photos here are from outfits I wore during the SS13 Copenhagen Fashion Week. As for further styling: stilettos and a wristwatch did the job.

(Left photo from here, right from here)
Next up: more colours! You know how I love them, and in these outfits I tried to do a tone in tone outfit. It's simply so fun to just work with the nuances of one colour. More of that in 2013, please!

(Left photo from here, right from here)
Two outfits with two of my favorite vintage printed shirts. I feel very natural in the right one especially, as it just has a whole of colour and fun. In both outfits I let black weigh it down, but no doubt the fun is in the colours.

(Left photo from here, right from here)
Two items that have had their fair share on the blog in 2012 are my black bianco stilettos and my Pennyblack bag. Both solid classics that can change an outfit. But naturally, vivid colours and lipstick go with it.

(Left photo from here, right from here)
You've probably discovered, but I'm fairly happy for vintage items. It's green (sustainable) and it's great. Above leather jacket, skirt and sequin top are all flea finds from different markets. All together they cost me less than a dress in H&M would.

(Left photo from here, right from here)
Now to some of the later outfits. In both of these outfits I wore my Billi Bi ankle boots (sorry that you can't see it on the second one), which I use every time I want to see the world a little higher up in the everyday. Left I used it with my vintage herringbone wool jacket and right with a simple turtleneck and printed pants.

(Left photo from here, right from here)
I love good sunglasses and colourful jumpers! Right I let the sweater be a contrast to a neutral toned outfit and left it became a part of a pastel toned outfit.

It's always great fun making outfit posts here for the blog, and it's always great to get your responses to my everyday experiments - from my heart a big thank you! I'm so happy to have such amazing and stylish readers (you bet I'm looking)!

HAVE AN AWESOME EVENING TONIGHT!!

In a Moment

Cape: vintage
Scarf: gift
Trousers: MTWTFSS Weekday
Socks: Knitted by my mother
Shoes: Vagabond
Bag: NEYE

Hi lovelies,
I'm back at home!! I went with my family down to my grandmother's in Germany. It was really lovely being gathered, and as we live quite a way from each other, every time we're all at one spot we enjoy every second. One little thing that's happened while I was gone: FRAMBOISE FASHION IS TODAY TWO YEARS (and 2 days) OLD!!!!!! Woooohoooo! Thanks to every single one of you for supporting, commenting and following - it's a joy to share this with you!! New Years is up tomorrow - exciting, huh? The big 2012! I'll be posting some of my resolutions with you tomorrow (as I'm for once trying to make some) ;)

Lots of love,

Mikaela

BEST OF 2012 - PART I

Now for one of those posts, that are turning up on most fashion bloggers' websites - the 2012 outfit sum up! I'll be making a couple, so here's just the first round.

(Left photo from this post, right from here)
My topshop JAMIE jeans really got used a lot this year. They have this gorgeous french blue colour, so despite the fact that they are hard to match, they're great to wear!

(Left photo from this post, right from here)
Here for my favorite blazer, the burgundy vintage tailored one, which is on me every second possible. The left photo is from when I went to London with Annie. This was actually the only outfit post I made there, as the weather was too dreadful for fashionable outfits (in my case only, Annie looked gorgeous!)

(Left photo from this post, right from here)
Here from on of my more seldom used items: the leather skirt. It's just not comfortable to wear, and given that I'm the ultimate comfy-seeking person, these two times pretty much sum up my use of that. However, I love the look of it!

(Left photo from this post, right from here)
The red cropped cigarette pants were fantastic for summer! On one side I styled it with matching items, and on the opposite in contrasting colours. The right photo is from when I went to see Spiderman together with Stine. Due to the time we spent getting ready to it (notice the Spiderman colour theme) and the laughs, it was simply one of the best movie-trips I've had.

(Left photo from this post, right from here)
Here's a favorite: my silver triangle Asos bag. Initially, I wanted to turn it into a camera bag, but somehow I never got around to it.

LAST TWO DAYS OF 2012 !! HAVE FUUUUUUN!!

No fashion party without some posing and pouting, and my beautiful friends sure seal the deal! Model, Klara Valente, showed us how to pose like a real model and did some coaching while I was shooting photos! You have maybe seen her at Abercrombie & Fitch in Copenhagen??
