MANCHESTER WITH STEVE MADDEN - PHOTO DIARY

photos by Kris Atomic

Here is the follow up photo diary from my amazing trip to Manchester with Steve Madden, The Apartment team and some fantastic blogger girls. It was such a fun and eventful day, and counts as my first trip to another English city than London, while I've been living in the UK! A much needed trip indeed!

The day started with the team meeting in Euston, everyone getting their morning coffee and then off towards Manchester. After a 2,5 hour long train ride of seeing the English country side (so many sheep and pheasants!), we arrived in Manchester at 12.05 as the group photo above reveals. With everyone wearing sneakers on the day, we were quite excited about the style challenge SM had given us - for us 5 to individually style an outfit with one of the Steve Madden SS14 shoes. I have been craving slip ons for ages now, so I was really excited when I saw the leopard pony skin ones they had in store! Now, who doesn't like the flat shoe trend that is still going strong? Don't you even dare deny it!

Everyone chose amazing outfits, and mine was all Topshop besides my accessories from Fossil - I had a check online, and the trousers I'm wearing are still available here! The Apartment team and Steve Madden spoilt us so much that we were all tickled pink when we went in each our cabs home in the evening. Can't wait to see Manchester again!

I HOPE YOUR WEEK IS GOING WELL SO FAR!

by ADAM KATZ SINDING// Le21éme

During the SS13 CPHFW last August I met Adam Katz Sinding from Le21éme who took these shots of me. They recently appeared in ELLE UK and ELLE.com, which is not weird given how well Adam takes photos. That man is special, but we all know that.
Fun thing is, that these photos were taken before my surgery, which is quite fun looking at now. It's not the biggest difference, but it is however there.

Red cheeked blogger

wearing: H&M shirt, vintage necklace and rings, selfmade skirt, Monki hat

Hiya lovies!

I hope you're all happy and well! Just got some major assignments away, which gives me more time for... the Easter holiday!! There is nothing I need more at the moment, than a little bit of peace from work and other stuff. This is an outfit I wore at a press event last week.
And I know. Very red cheeks. I have no say in their choice of colour, but oh well - it's spring isn't it! :) Btw - I'm just gonna be some days away from the blog. Going to visit my boyfriend's grandfather. See you next week.

Glædelig Påske allesammen :)

Lots of love,
Mikaela

MANCHESTER WITH STEVE MADDEN

photos by Kris Atomic

Here are the first photos from my amazing trip to Manchester just over a week ago with Steve Madden and The Apartment. These gorgeous girls (from left) Kit, Reem, Ella and Shini, are such a blast to hang out with and we even made a pretend girl band together: The Maddens. Now, don't tell me that that's not a million dollar idea? Potential new career path right there.

Steve Madden and The Apartment made such an amazing day out for us, and we had a little style challenge consisting of us choosing our favourite Steve Madden SS14 shoe and styling an outfit with it. Above is what we did with it, and Ella and I couldn't help but falling for the leopard pony skin slip ons. More photos plus a photo diary coming up soon!

HAVE A LOVELY DAY

ARRIVED IN LONDON

Wow! What a hectic four days, I have just been through!
After driving through Denmark and Germany to the Netherlands, my mother getting a very bad food poisoning, missing the ferry to England, I finally arrived safe and sound in London. Everything is more or less organised now, only a few bits and bobs here and there, so I'm settling in really nicely.

Yesterday I managed to relax and play tourist for a day with my lovely parents, which was just the greatest of fun. I can't tell you how excited I am about this move, the city is just so intense and diverse. I'm completely in love.

HOPE YOU HAVE AN AWESOME DAY!

Just A Little More

Would love to take this beauty for a spin! @Warwick Avenue
@ Brick Lane.

Found a new friend at The Vintage Emporium

A German beauty.
Enjoying a snog. Ouh lala!
Frozen yoghurt with raspberries (of course) and heart shaped chocolate bites.
Annie loving everything at Polga de Olga.
The markets were just the best!
Feminine and flawless at Beyond Retro
SNAP!
After a week of walking in too small shoes I got myself these cheeps from Primark. A mere £6 for happy feet - can't complain!

One week in this amazing city and I'm totally in love. It has always been a dream of mine to study in London, and now where that possibility is slowly approaching and after my recent visit, I'm entirely motivated to make this dream of mine come true. I don't dare say anything yet, but the end of this year might hold something completely new for me. I'm very excited!

MARC JACOBS X COCA-COLA LIGHT

Yes! It's that time of year again, where Coca-Cola announces a collaboration with a designer, and this year it will be no less than Marc Jacobs adding his creative touch to this iconic drink. It has in no doubt become a collector's item, and I always go all starry eyed, when I get my hands on these exclusive bottles. I'll be quite honest with you, I don't like the taste of light products. If I'm eating or drinking something, I like it to be full blown rich. That being said, I just can't resist these cute bottles even if I don't drink them.

The bottles will be available in Denmark from the 6th till the 26th of May in 7-eleven. I love the Broadway feeling of the front bottle in particular. Classy, androgynous and fun.

I also got my hands on a limited edition cover of the current ELLE Denmark. Fantastic, no?

P.S. I arrived safe and sound in London after missing the ferry. Moved in to my new home and it's fantastic! People are so sweet and the city is energetic. Will snap some shots here to share at the soonest!

HAVE AN AMAZING SUNDAY!

STINE GOYA

Happy Saturday everyone!

It's been a while since I've shared some proper inspiration, so here is something I'm really inspired about.

To me, Stine Goya is one of the most talented designers we have in Denmark. Her eye for colour and continuingly brilliant use of print makes her stand out of the bunch. Furthermore she succeeds in a very difficult task: uniting the scandinavian minimalist with colour; something that elsewise would seem impossible.

Her ongoing reltionship with colour, makes me look forward to her show every season. Black and white can only go so far. Quite far to be precise, but with colour, if done right it will go way beyond and you’ll have the fashion frontrowers clapping with excitement. Stine Goya’s creations really can do this.

In this article Stine Goya did for Politiken, she describes her relationship with the colour coral, which we safely can call her signature colour. I think this photo is a beautiful tribute to this.

Check out more of what inspires me on my tumblr!
