Stars shining above us

Wearing: Vintage shirt, H&M trousers, Zara heels

Okay, I'm doing this new thing. And I'm not sure how comfortable I am with it, honestly speaking. It's called: "You put that liquid eye-liner away, young girl, RIGHT NOW". My mantra is: "Stay strong! You can do this". But really, I can't. I've been wearing eyeliner (every time I put on make-up) for like 6 years now, and it is a very sweet and loving relationship. Without it, I feel that my face just looks to bare. And I've always been a sucker for that classy Audrey Hepburn look, no doubt about it! But for now, as long as my blush and brows don't abandon me, I'll be trying to go sans eyeliner (I'm not saying I'm quitting eyeliner - I'll just try something else for a change). Okay, so that was a long text about my relationship with eyeliner - Oh well, it had to happen sometime. Hope you are happy and well!

Mikaela

Attic finds and wonderful weather

wearing: old jacket, h&m skirt, Vagabond shoes, necklace from a market in Leipzig, gloves by Gaucho

Had the best time yesterday shooting these photos with Cecilie; we had muffins and we couldn't stop laughing in this little park. Just yesterday I found that jacket/cape on the attic and I've never worn it! I'll have to make up for that now; I'm crazy about it.

Have the loveliest sunday!

TOUCH OF GOLD

REISS JUMPER / SELF-MADE SKIRT / RUSSELL&BROMLEY BAG / NIKE AIR FORCE 1 SHOES / ASOS SUNNIES (same shape here) / NARS NAIL POLISH

Do you know those days, where you're just on a race with time? I think many Londoners can nod knowingly to this, based on how many people run past me in the underground. If I could only insert a little extra time here and there, I'm wondering how relaxed we'd all be all of a sudden. When things are high pace for me, which is the heat I'm feeling at the moment (certainly not from my dysfunctional heating system at home!), I love to just put on some good music, make a hot chocolate (with extra whipped cream) and do my e-mails and my blog from bed. In a sense, this is why I love Autumn so much, although it may be harder to get out of bed in the mornings.

I HOPE YOU'RE HAVING A GREAT WEEK

UNDERNEATH THE AEROPLANES

ASOS PANTS
PENNYBLACK COAT
VINTAGE EARRINGS
RUDE CLUTCH
BIANCO SHOES

You cannot believe the thrill going through my body when these pants arrived with the mail. They're so.. happy! And spotty as well. How can you be in a bad mood when coloured in spots? Rash not included of course.
And these Bianco stilettos have become my companion. I'm or my feet are not happy with stilettos, but somehow these black darlings have passed the test.

The shirt has a bit of a funny story to it. My mother made it for me when I was little, and it wasn't meant to fit like the above shown. Now it's just a crop top - there you go!

CHECKING IN

One week back in school already! And I still have all my body parts intact!! Therefor: no complaints from here.. Okay, so maybe a little complaint - have unfortunately become ill with a fever. Again! I used to be a person, who could go a year without signs of anything, and now, I really feel like my health could up its game or at least schedule these happenings a bit better. This weekend is going to be quite special, but I'd highly prefer it not including fevers or cramps.
Now? Protein, vitamins and a whole lot of water!

HOPE YOU'RE ALL HAPPY AND HEALTHY

INDIA: ART NOW

Last weekend I went to my favorite art museum in the world (believe me, I've been to a few) ARKEN who atm have the most amazing exhibition INDIA: ART NOW and INDIA: FASHION NOW. I was looking so much forward to it, and completely as expected, I was blown away. It was nothing less than super fascinating, intriguing, provocative and inspiring. How can one be anything but stunned?

It's the biggest exhibition they've had to date, which includes 13 of the best artist and art groups from India who have produced installations, sculptures and gigantic paintings. The pieces mixes local elements of India and yet shout global culture.
These exhibitions are truly worth the time of day, and you bet I'll be going again before it stops in February.

Stay tuned to see my photos from the INDIA: FASHION NOW exhibition!

On my Eyes

You might remember me trying out a Wet'n'Wild eyeshadow a while back. Polhem kindly sent me one of the same kind but in brown and neutral colours. The first photo is a photo from back then - very dramatic, party like and the two bottom ones is the brown one. I'm going to say it again: I'm a derb when it comes to varying make-up looks - I like it simple. Eyeliner, mascara, a little rouge and some lipbalm and I'm ready! That's what I wear on my face, no matter the occaision. But these eyeshadows sure make it tempting to go and try a new look, making it so easy to apply (the box and the eyshadow says where the specific eyeshadows should go). And if you, like me, don't want to spend a lot of money on makeup you don't wear every day, this is a great option. :)

Kan I huske, at jeg for noget tid siden prøvede nogle Wet'n'Wild øjenskygger? Indlægget kan findes her. :)

How to be Awesome on a Saturday

Me. Jumping. Happened to be on a wheatfield. From this outfit post.
How I'm going to spend my Saturday:

  • Bake chocolate scones

  • Go jump on a field in a dress and sneakers (of course).

  • Call a loved one.

  • Have the neighbours over for cake.

That's my Saturday in a nutshell. What are you up to today? :)

Min lørdag kommer til at følge ovenstående punkter. Hvad skal I i dag? :) Ovenstående billeder er fra dette outfit indlæg.

Lots of love,

In our own pretty ways

Wearing Topshop dress

My lovely friend Emilie gave me the dress (it was a rush getting it, since I have not bought new clothes for a while!); I'll get some better snaps of it in the weekend for you to see :) Looked through my inspiration folder and found this Wassily Kandinsky painting I find so lovely. I love the colours in it!

Hope you are happy and well!

xx, Mikaela

Painting by Wassily Kandinsky (from the Wassily Kandinsky myspace).

Just Guessing

I got these wide-legged pants in H&M last week, put I'm strongly considering taking them back. Eventhough I love the style and the colour of them, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get to use them as much as I would like. They acquire heels and a neutral coloured shirt to really look good. And quite frankly; I spend to much money in cafés to buy them. I hope you had a wonderful day! Mine was spent at home. :)

Lots of love,
Mikaela

Adorable Lindsey

Lindsey looks absolutely lovely here. I love the clash between the darker red colours and the subtle white.

Aye, Bee, Sea

Got this shirt a couple of weeks ago at a fleamarket I attended to with some of my lovely blogger friends. With a little pursuasion I got it for only 15 kr (approximately 3 dollars). I'll get a better shot of it sooner or later but here's a little preview :) I'm crazy about all the letters.

I hope you had a wonderful day!

I make a funny pout, I know! But I just thought the image was nice with the hair :)

a day with MUUSE

Some of the garments needed help when dressing the model, Maja Francisca.

MUUSE's Aleksandra had to go to Milan for a meeting and (possibly) chose this beautiful dress.

All the clothes designed by Nathalie Fordeyn

Monday I went to visit MUUSE in Copenhagen, which is a newly started fashion company in Denmark, who take newly educated designers from the best design schools around the world and help them produce their clothes and distribute their creations to all of us fashion lovers. When Christianna wrote to me about their concept and projects I was completely thrilled - it's such a good concept! I mean, design students have so much to bring to the table - a completely new way of perceiving fashion in a very unaffected, artistic way. Why shouldn't it be available to buy? They invited me in to see a photo shoot they were doing of Royal Academy of Antwerp graduate Nathalie Fordeyn's creations, and it was really interesting! Her clothes has a strike of surrealism and knows no bounderies when it comes to silhouettes - all in all a very inspiring day.

Remember to check out MUUSE's blog MUUSINGS... where you can read more about this shoot and get behind the thoughts of the designers affiliated with MUUSE. :)
